School holidays are here and this spring, there are plenty of reasons to get out of the house and enjoy fun activities around the city and North Adelaide! See some ideas below that the whole family will love. 

Big Market Adventures for Little Foodies is back at the Market these school holidays! All activities are free or low cost and include the ever popular Market Trail, Little Market Chefs, plus FREE art and craft workshops.

View Adelaide from the River Torrens and paddle past the Adelaide Riverbank highlights including Adelaide Oval. For 90 minutes, you will be guided by our qualified instructors to enjoy this relaxing experience on the footsteps of the city. You'll get to enjoy scenic views of the cityscape and surrounding river bank environments while you find out a bit more about the history and significance of the River Torrens and surrounds.

Go to Fennescey House for a guided tour of the Let me be Myself – The Life Story of Anne Frank exhibition. The tour will provide deeper insights into Anne's life before and during the Holocaust and engage visitors in discussions about the themes of the exhibition.

Take a trip down the rabbit hole at the Mayfair Hotel for a high tea experience that your family will never forget. The Alice high tea offers an unlimited selection of tea cup juices, hot chocolate, and a signature ‘Drink Me’ themed mocktail. All accompanied by a generous spread of assorted mini sweet pastries, gourmet sandwiches with savoury bites and indulgent desserts.

This open air, pop-up mini-golf experience is made up of interactive holes inspired by the stories, characters and icons from some of Pixar’s most beloved films including Toy Story, Onward, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Soul, Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Life, Wall-E, Inside Out and more.

Spring is in the air and that means one thing – baby animals! Do you know how old Quokka joeys are when they leave the pouch? Have you ever wondered how much a Giant Panda cub weighs at birth? Discover everything you’ve ever wanted to know about baby animals and how we care for them on a magical day out filled with fresh air, fun and learning these school holidays.

Adelaide is spoilt for choice when it comes to sport and outdoor activities. If you're after an activity with the family to get the kids outdoors these school holidays, there's something for everyone in the city and North Adelaide.

Time for Kids matches children with volunteer families and individuals who willingly give their time, care and support and this October, they are fundraising at part of the Camp Out. You don’t necessarily have to camp out as such, you can participate anywhere. It could be come into the city and explore the Park Lands, walk along linear park or visit the Botanic Gardens. It’s a matter of registering, fundraising and completing a whole bunch of fun challenges as a family.

Attractions at the event will include over 25 rides, side show games, over 60 showbags, delicious food trucks serving up Show favourites, Paw Patrol characters, a nightly fireworks display (weather pending) and much much more.
