Got a little chef at home? Sign them up for Sprout's cooking classes and watch as they learn to make tasty meals with market-fresh ingredients. Life skills and entertainment? Say less.
Out for your weekly produce shop? Keep the kids entertained with free craft sessions on Friday mornings and go home with a bonus artwork or drop past on a Saturday morning for free face-painting!
See Local Artists at Work
JamFactory Adelaide
Take a free tour of the JamFactory for a behind-the-scenes look into art studios and galleries. It's the perfect opportunity to introduce your kids to iconically South Australian craft and design, while your tour guide fields all their questions.
Stick around for the free, mesmerising glass-blowing demonstrations, which happen daily between 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. The kids will be wowed by the spectacle of molten glass, and if it’s something you haven’t seen before, we guarantee you’ll be rapt too.
Paddle on the Torrens
Captain Jolley's Paddleboats
See Adelaide from a new perspective these school holidays. Hop on a pedal powered boat for a 30-minute paddle along the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari. Life jackets are provided, so everyone can enjoy their ride while being safe at the same time.
It's a fun workout with a side of Vitamin D. Maybe you'll even spot some pelicans?
Picnic in the Park
Adelaide Botanic Gardens
With free entry every day, a picnic in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a great way to spend some time in the sun. Enjoy a dose of old-fashioned family fun at the free Teddy Bears' Picnic at the Adelaide Botanic Garden this Saturday. Pack a picnic and your favourite teddy bears for an entertaining morning backed by live music and face-painting.
