Small Business Champions: insights on the $10,000 Emergency Cash Grants

Last updated 07 Nov, 2023

The community and all levels of government have galvanised to display a collective show of unity and provide various avenues of support during a rapidly changing landscape for business

The City of Adelaide’s Small Business Task Force was established to provide business advice and regular updates on available resources and to help businesses understand the different support measures available. Communications with businesses have helped inform council’s initiatives to support the recovery of the business community.

Through consultation with the city business community, the Small Business Task Force has identified the most common queries. We have developed a video series focusing on these topics, featuring the real-life experiences of our local business champions.

This week, we explore the State Government’s $10,000 Emergency Cash Grants for Small Businesses. The Grants are available to eligible businesses and not-for-profits who have been highly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Criteria includes an ABN, employees in South Australia as of 1 March, an annual turnover of more than $75,000 and a payroll less than $1.5 million. Kristin of Life Personal Trainers, Adam from Prohibition Liquor Co, and Mick of Urban Cow Studio share their experiences and advice on applying for the Grant as well as what they’ve been doing to fill this time.
