Interviewing Masterclass

The Art of Interviewing Masterclass with Radio Adelaide

Join radio extraordinaire Lisa Burns and learn the art of interviewing. This all-day workshop will cover interviewing skills and techniques to help you capture great content for your digital media. Then you will get hands-on to conduct and record an interview of your own.

In the morning, you will learn what makes a good interview, how to prepare and what questions to ask, and also how to stay present during the interview and be a good listener.

After lunch we will return, pick a partner and write an interview plan. Participants will then interview and record each other and reflect on the process.

Lisa has worked in radio since 2009, filing stories for Community Radio Network's flagship current affairs program, The Wire, presenting SACOSS' weekly social justice radio program on Radio Adelaide and stints in ABC local radio. She's the South Australian producer for season one and two of CBAA's From the Embers series; in 2021, two episodes including The Glowing Island were awarded Bronze at the New York Festivals Radio Awards.
