Sometimes you just need to have a boogie on a Saturday night to forget about the week past and the week ahead. Here’s our guide for your late-night jaunts.

Mary's Poppin

5 Synagogue Place, Adelaide

If you're aching to hear some Britney, Kylie and Donna Summers then Adelaide's go-to gay bar, Mary's Poppin is the place for you with a thriving dancefloor and outstanding drag shows throughout the night. The bars have some cheekily named drinks which inspire some very brave moves from guests in the pole dancing area and beneath the biggest disco ball in Australia (or so it's rumored). They also host high-profile drag queens from all over the world plus foster some awesome home-grown talent!

Lion Arts Factory

68 North Terrace, Adelaide

Lion Arts Factory is one of the busiest spots for live music in the CBD. Most Friday and Saturday nights (and the odd Thursday and Sunday) it plays host to a variety of musical acts that bless Adelaide with their musical talents.

With two stages, there’s always enough room to dance, or stay front and centre near the band. Make sure to check their website and Facebook for upcoming performances – they really do have an act for everyone!

Ancient World

116a Hindley Street, Adelaide (down that suss alleyway and then turn left to find the entrance)

Gritty, grungy, experimental and weirdly wonderful, Ancient World is tucked down a dark alleyway off Hindley Street, but you'll find an absolutely thriving and progressive community once you enter the doors. They host stacks of local musicians, drag queens and punk shows which are known for getting notoriously sweaty and wild. Prepare to see some unexpected art, questionable karaoke skills and musicians with names you could never have even dreamed up.

Divide

149 Hindley St , Adelaide, SA, Australia, South Australia

Experience the ultimate nightlife at Divide! Immerse yourself in a dance floor full of lasers, interactive lighting walls, LED displays, and vibrant club lighting that will electrify your night. An upcoming sonic sanctuary that promises unforgettable memories.

Nightshade

15 Solomon Street, Adelaide

The owners of Crybaby and Sunny’s Pizza have teamed up together for the latest entrant to Adelaide’s nightclub scene. Welcome, Nightshade. Paying homage to the neon-soaked, synth-pop era of the 1980’s, Nightshade boasts of great music, retro-themed cocktails, live DJ’s on Friday and Saturday.

Cry Baby Bar

11 Solomon Street, Adelaide

Cry Baby specialises in providing all things rock and roll to Adelaide club-goers. This polished dive bar is equipped with a jukebox and pool table, along with ample space for all your dancing needs.

Throwback songs are nicely mixed with new-age rock, meaning there’s potential to sing along and to listen to your favourite up and comers. The bar staff are quick to serve and even quicker with a cocktail shaker - what’s not to love?
