Adelaide boba tea tour

Last updated 03 Aug, 2022

Boba, or bubble tea for the uninitiated, is wickedly sensational on a sunny day – especially if you’re one to add-on the ice. Some will also argue that it is even better than ice cream.

But what exactly is boba?

Quite simply, boba is a transliteration of the word bubble, which describes the ‘pearls’ made from tapioca, in this tea-based drink. It can be enjoyed as a sweet or sometimes sweet and savoury drink. Most boba tea shops offer a pick-n-mix menu, where you can craft and create your own boba concoction. You can choose from a variety of base tea (a no-frills black tea with or without milk) or fruit juices, toppings, and the quintessential boba (pearls).

If you’re wanting to treat yourself to this superb drink, here are some of our favourite picks in the city.
