State Heritage Place

St Patrick’s Schoolhouse is one of the State’s oldest surviving school buildings and is the oldest bespoke Catholic school building in South Australia. Erected in 1848, St Patrick’s Schoolhouse demonstrates the emergence and evolution of schooling in South Australia and specifically Bishop Francis Murphy’s efforts to establish Catholic education.
