Nestled behind the Adelaide Town Hall, the Meeting Hall was built in 1862 as a school room and lecture hall for then neighbouring Methodist Church complex.

With the regal clock tower featuring as the centrepiece, the Adelaide Town Hall was built in 1866 by former Mayor of the City Edmund Wright. Local materials including Tea Tree Gully freestone and Dry Creek bluestone feature prominently throughout the design.
