Sam has settled into his dream city spot

Sam has had his sights on city living for as long as he can remember and sealed the deal on his off-the-plan two-bedroom home three years ago. Newly-settled in the Angas Street Kodo Apartments, Sam is finally adding the finishing touches to his dream pad.

As residents are filtering into the new block, a strong sense of community and comradery is already forging. A barbecue, stocked esky of drinks and the gathering of Kodo-dwellers on the sweeping communal terrace quickly resulted in the forming of new friendships - and a committee which will organise get-togethers on the last Friday of each month.

Sam loves the location of his new home - and so do his friends and family! With his parents based in Stansbury on the Yorke Peninsula, approximately two hours outside of Adelaide, the pair frequently bunk in Sam’s second room when visiting his new nephew in Lobethal.

A little foray into the suburbs cemented Sam’s desire to get back to the city as soon as possible, with a long-term outlook. It also inspired him to start over, simplify, and Marie Kondo his life.

Sam knows the city streets and sounds too well, servicing some of Adelaide’s most iconic buildings as an elevator technician. He’s now exploring them on a personal level - venturing out for a solo pub crawl. Starting off with laneways like Leigh Street, then onto little nooks in Topham Mall, and finally ending up at the Metro - he quickly befriended other locals. With a mate working at the Saracens, Sam knows he can always pop down and see a friendly face over a brew.

Weekend rituals include rallying up the troops for a run around Victoria Park or along the Torrens. With Kodo situated a hop, skip and step away from the Adelaide Central Market, the next stop off is a visit for his weekly shop and a feed at his favourite stall, SunMi’s Sushi. 

Sam was thinking long-term with the purchase of his apartment, deciding on a two-bedroom.
