Best city walks to see autumn leaves
The crunch of leaves, the gorgeous colours and the fresh air - autumn provides the perfect backdrop for those enjoying their daily walks around the city. We've gathered together a few of our favourites, with a coffee pitstop to top off the experience.
Frome Road
Kicking through the leaves along Frome Road is an autumn-lovers must! The leafy avenue was planted in 1902 to commemorate Arbor Day and is one of Adelaide’s most impressive displays of autumn colour.

Hindmarsh Square
While it sure is a sight from above, a stroll at ground level is equally as pleasing, with the leaves changing colour and seasonal flower beds in the square’s quadrants.

Adelaide Botanic Gardens
This city oasis is always worth a visit in autumn. Top leaf spotting spots include the lake, outside the Botanic Gardens restaurant, and the section of trees just off the Morton Bay Fig path.

North Adelaide
With leafy streets galore, you can take your pick and choose your own autumn adventure. Start at O’Connell or Melbourne Street and follow the colour!

Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka
Coffee in hand, take a leisurely stroll around the lake and head to the back right-hand corner to the Rymill Park carriageway. Time it just right and you'll be greeted by an avenue of well-established trees decked out in orange and yellow.

Adelaide Himeji Garden
A place for peaceful reflection, the Himeji Garden is a fitting spot to take a moment and watch the season change over. A short walk along South Terrace and you can also watch the colours change across the beautiful Veale Gardens.

North Terrace
Strolling along the North Terrace cultural precinct is always a lovely sight but it's particularly fun when you're rugged up and crunching through autumn leaves! Head in and around the University of Adelaide buildings for an extra dash of autumn colour.

Adelaide Uni Footbridge
Enjoy your daily dose of fresh air along the River Torrens, with a stop along the way to catch the beautiful colours near the uni footbridge. If you want to extend your walk, head up past Adelaide Oval and check out the leaves near St Peter's Cathedral.

East End
