Golden Rhombohedron (Acute)

Jason Sims

Golden Rhombohedron (Acute) is a large-scale reflective glass light sculpture in the form of a rhombohedron. In geometry, a rhombohedron, like a cube, has six faces made from the same shape. The shape of the faces represent the golden rhombus, described because its diagonals are in the golden ratio.

When commissioned Jason Sims was an emerging South Australian artist with international success in creating multi-media artworks. This artwork was commissioned by the City of Adelaide in partnership with Renewal SA as part of the Market to Riverbank redevelopment project.

The companion artwork Golden Rhombohedron (Obtuse) was commissioned as part of Illuminate Adelaide 2021 with both artworks bookending the City’s Market to Riverbank link.
