Carpark Members Only toy car installation

Carpark Members Only is a wall of cars was initially commissioned for the 2000 Adelaide Festival of Arts as a temporary sculpture, however, because of its popularity, remains here today. The work is made up of around 10,000 toy cars, many of which were given to the artist by the general public. On arriving in Adelaide, the artist noticed the number of multi-level parks in the city, and how visible they were one the city skyline. The resulting piece is at once whimsical and cautionary of our increasing urban density in the city. Rosina Street is located off Hindley Street.
