What is ATDW and Why Do I Need It?

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is Australia’s national database for tourism business and event listings, overseen by each state's tourism body. Experience Adelaide uses ATDW to manage the event and business listings that appear across the website.

Once your listing is submitted and approved through ATDW, it is automatically distributed across tourism websites including Experience Adelaide, and SouthAustralia.com, helping you reach a wider audience while saving valuable time and effort.

Any updates to your listing must be made through your original ATDW listing, ensuring information remains consistent across all platforms where it appears.

What Types of Events and Businesses Can Be Listed?

While the ATDW is open to any events and businesses operating across Australia, Experience Adelaide only features listings located within Adelaide CBD and North Adelaide. See below for further listing eligibility.

  • Held a physical location (online events or webinars are not eligible)
  • Open to the public
  • Designed for tourism purposes (i.e., business events, classes, workshops, community events, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, food and win, markets, sporting events)
    • Operating out of a physical location (web-based businesses are not eligible) 
    • Have a leisure tourism focus

    Businesses must also fall within one of the following ATDW tourism categories:

    • Accommodation
    • Attraction
    • Event 
    • Food and drink (restaurants, cafe and bars)
    • General Service
    • Hire
    • Transport
    • Tours

    In South Australia, ATDW listings are a free service overseen by the South Australian Tourism Commission. It is completely free for eligible South Australian tourism products and events.

    Events are submitted through the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW). Once approved, it will appear on Experience Adelaide’s What’s On webpage and become searchable on the website.

    After submitting your listing through ATDW, approval times can vary. Once approved, listings can appear on Experience Adelaide within a few days.
