Photo taken 01 January 1952

State Library Catalogue Reference: B 62040

WT Flint and Son Ltd ironmongers, drapers and house furnishers occupied the western corner of Hindley and Bank Streets, seen here in 1892 to the left of the Eagle Tavern on the opposite corner. The gothic style building ran halfway down to the railway station. It was demolished in 1958 to widen Bank Street, which is why the current building is so narrow.
