2024
Ursula Beaumont has a long track record of involvement in numerous art practices from circus and theatre to literature and landscaping. Over the past five years she has been developing her ceramics practice, which has lured her into studying visual arts at the Adelaide College of the Arts. 'The original seat' developed out of an assignment focused on building miniature chairs. This piece is a collection of metaphoric seats for eggs, chicks, hens and humanity's greed. Ursula explores an aspect of our current environmental predicament and considers destruction and the balance needed for the interconnectedness of the world in which we live.

Carol Frunks
Decay
Leaf, wood, acrylic
2024
Decay was formed after finding some interesting skeleton leaves during my daily dog walks and wanting to preserve and share their beauty. The ideal stand being a piece of weathered bark from a fallen branch, together forming a harmonious natural sculpture.
From a young age I have been driven to draw and create. Even now when creating my artworks, I draw inspiration from my own personal sentiment and the world around me, in particular the hues, textures, and patterns that nature provides, adorning its flora and fauna.
Acrylic, ink, watercolour, charcoal, and watercolour pencil are a handful of mediums I use and am constantly experimenting to create new and unique pieces, hoping to bring joy to those who view my work.
Sculpture in its many forms is my new passion and I am endeavouring to produce some thought-provoking and fascinating results. I believe bringing art to life in 3D form is so exciting and the creative possibilities are endless.

Multicultural ties
Mixed Media
2024
With a background in Design (Masters in Design - Textiles), I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to now delve into Arts. I practiced Textile design in India for about 18 years, contemporising traditional techniques and designs to cater to more modern aesthetics and am now looking forward to a career as a Visual artist here in Adelaide.
Have had an enriching life back home in India, and now privileged to be able to call Adelaide/Australia my home, since the last 2 years. Thoroughly enjoying my Visual Arts journey at Adelaide College of Arts, and being surrounded by an inspiring, interesting & wonderful bunch. It indeed is my "Happy Place'!
Am passionate about sustainability and off late, it has come to be an integral part of most of my creative work. I have always had a fascination for colours, patterns, textures along with an intrinsic love for Textiles. My dream is to use it along with my newfound love for drawing, sculpture and ceramics.
Multicultural ties - Inspired from the Rubik's cube, the repurposed bread tie squares are a metaphor for the interwoven permutations and combinations of the rich diverse multicultural society of my newly adopted country

Just Chillin’
Husky on a skateboard sled chair
2024
Happily exploring visual arts at the Adelaide College of Arts, I’m a believer in the power of the arts to heal the Soul, so my focus for the future is to promote the healing potential of artistic creation as a tool for wellness and enrichment. Having previously published poetry and a short story, I intend to combine the written word with visual expression as an avenue of healing and spiritual growth.
This is a tribute piece created in memory of my teenage son, an avid skateboarder who once taught his Husky puppy Freya to sit on his board for a ride. Upon pondering what to do with his old skateboards, I created this maquette as part of my sculpture body of work. Using his finger boards and some extra decks and pop sticks, I put together a comfortable sled ride for the small Husky. My hope was to infuse some humour into the piece.

It combines elements of good luck and bad luck to cancel each other out.
