The Knot

Bert Flugelman

The Knot was created in 1975, by Adelaide artist Bert Flugelman, known as the creator of The Spheres, (the Mall’s Balls) in Rundle Mall.

The Knot was originally commissioned by the ‘Works in Public Places Fund’ for the Art Gallery of South Australia, where it stayed from 1975 to 1995. It was then removed due to developments at the art gallery and relocated to the picturesque Light Square in 2003.
